G2   S okkia G2™ Graphic Field Assistant is our newest Field Data Collection software. G2 is designed to work the way you do, the professional, in the field. Sokkia G2 combines our legacy of expertise in the world of data collection with new functions, tools, and a new interface. With G2, users will find data collection easier, faster, and more efficient than ever before. New Architecture G2 runs on the Windows CE® operating system and takes advantage of the capabilities afforded by newer field computers and handheld devices. G2 includes a touch-screen interface, and uses a tab-based graphical menu structure, based on our proven SDR design. New Interface Unlike text-based data collection software of the past, G2 includes a graphic interface. Users can view their data in real time in Map or text views. Stake out, Topography, and many other functions are now available real-time through an intuitive touch-screen interface. New Hardware Options G2 is available on the SDR8100™, the DAP® CE5320, and the Ranger. By using new software architecture, we are able to offer G2 on either the ergonomic and lightweight SDR8100 platform, or the heavy-duty, ultra-rugged DAP CE5320, or the well known At Work Computers Ranger. The DAP CE5320 and At Work Computers Ranger come standard with a G2 keyboard overlay. Support for most other well known CE devices is coming soon: Compaq Ipaq, Panasonic Toughbook 01 and Juniper Systems Allegro.
